Multiple Authors, Multiple Days: The Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival

Who doesn’t love discovering a great new read? If you’re a book lover, the Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival hosted by the Friends of the Mt. Pleasant Library is the perfect event for you! This three-day celebration of books and literary arts will take place April 24-26, 2025, at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library. With an exciting lineup of authors, workshops, and activities for all ages, this festival is the perfect opportunity to dive into new stories, meet amazing authors, and explore the world of literature!

Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival Featured Authors:

📚 Craig Johnson – April 26, 6pm

  • New York Times bestselling author of the Walt Longmire mystery series and creator of the hit Netflix drama Longmire. Don’t miss his keynote talk!

📚 Mary Alice Monroe – April 24, 6pm

  • Kick off the festival with Mary Alice Monroe, author of Beach House Memories, discussing her latest book, Where the Rivers Merge.

📚 Terah Shelton Harris – April 26, 3pm

  • Join Target’s 2024 Author of the Year as she discusses her novels One Summer in Savannah and Long After We Are Gone.

📚 Megan Shepherd – April 26, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm

  • NY Times bestselling author of The Madman’s Daughter trilogy. Attend one of her three workshops for aspiring writers!

📚 Andy Runton – April 26, 12pm

  • Eisner Award-winning creator of Owly will lead a fun, interactive illustration workshop for all ages.

📚 Lauren Denton – April 25, 6pm

  • USA Today bestselling author of A Place to Land and Hurricane Season. Hear about her latest work!

📚 Maurice Manning – April 26, 2pm

  • Acclaimed Kentucky poet and author of The Gone and the Going Away, Snakedoctor, and Lawrence Booth’s Book of Visions. Maurice’s poetic brilliance and storytelling will captivate your heart.

📚 Emily Francis – April 26, 10am

  • Cabarrus County Schools Teacher of the Year and author of the inspiring memoir If You Only Knew. Emily shares her journey as a Guatemalan immigrant and how it continues to inspire her students.

📚 Dr. Sadie Leder Elder – April 25, 11am

  • Author of Boopers the Bad Cat, Dr. Leder Elder brings a heartwarming children’s story time inspired by her beloved cat, Boopers.

📚 Eric Litwin – April 26, 10am, 11am, 12pm

  • Award-winning author of the Pete the Cat children’s books, Eric’s engaging sessions will delight readers of all ages with lively stories and interactive fun.

📚 Kimberly Wilson – April 25, 3:30pm

  • Author of A Penny’s Worth, Kimberly will host a children’s story time and activity that teaches elementary-age children about the value of a dollar.
