Get ready to paint the town green this St. Patrick’s Day weekend with the Afton Pub Crawl. The Afton Village streets will come alive as participants gather for an afternoon of fun, community, and fundraising, all in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County.

Organized by The Afton Foundation, the event will showcase three popular venues – The Wine Room, Afton Pub and Pizza, and Afton Tavern.

Participants can check in at The Wine Room, with the official kickoff at 2pm. The crawl will then proceed from 2 to 4 at The Wine Room, 4 to 6 at Afton Pub and Pizza, and finally, from 6 to 8 at Afton Tavern. This drop-in event encourages participants to check in at any time, with registration areas conveniently located at each venue.

Scott Alphin, founder of The Afton Foundation, has dedicated his efforts to bringing the community together through various neighborhood socials, and the pub crawl is no exception.

  • Tickets purchased in advance are $15 or $20 at the door. Participants will receive a specially designed t-shirt, an event bracelet, and St. Patrick’s Day swag. To streamline the event and ensure a hassle-free experience, the pub crawl is designed to be cashless. Attendees can purchase tickets in advance or bring a credit card for seamless transactions throughout the day.

Participants can also participate in a silent auction and raffle with over 25 items up for grabs from the community, including signed NFL helmets, NASCAR memorabilia, MLB tickets, golf vacations, rare bourbons, and more.

Each location will offer St. Patrick’s Day drink and food specials and throughout the crawl, there will be a DJ to keep the energy high, ensuring that everyone has a fantastic time while supporting a good cause. Ten percent of the revenue collected at each participating location will go directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County.

  • This contribution will support the club’s efforts to provide meals to children facing food insecurity, particularly during weekends and summer breaks when access to meals may be limited.

When asked about his motivation for organizing the event, Scott emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, especially when it comes to supporting children in need. He envisions The Afton Foundation using events like the pub crawl to raise money for other local charities in the future, further extending the impact of their efforts.

The success of the Afton Pub Crawl wouldn’t be possible without the support of these generous sponsors: Leigh Brown & Associates, Holton Construction Concepts, US Lawns of Charlotte, AV8&Fish, Modern Eyecare, Great Clips, Phoenix Exterior Solutions, and King Financial Corporation. Their commitment to the cause amplifies the impact of this community-driven event.
