The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Concord is collecting clothing for the Angel Tree and Silver Wings in October. New clothing items for children ages newborn to 12 and for seniors in our community are being requested.

A strong partnership has endured in our community between the Junior Charity League (JCL) and the local Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City Schools that ensures that as many students as possible get to experience new clothing for the school year.

As the sun sets on warm September evenings, the streets of Downtown Concord will come alive with a burst of vibrant colors, inviting all to enjoy—the Colorful Lights Tour. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the month, residents and visitors alike can explore Downtown Concord, connect with others, and learn more about the rich history of the area.

The Community Free Clinic (CFC), Cabarrus County’s only free clinic, has an open invitation to the 23rd annual Festival of Tables fundraiser on Sept. 29th at McGill Baptist Church. Available for purchase in a silent auction are beautifully decorated tables promising an enjoyable and purposeful afternoon!

National Night Out (NNO) events feature hands-on opportunities with first responders. Started in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch, NNO is an opportunity for communities to come together and promote crime prevention, strengthen police-community relations, and foster neighborly interactions.

Concord Afton Sunset Rotary Club seeks support for their “School Tools” school supply drive. Now in their 6th year sponsoring the program, they emphasize that donations are needed early this year with our public schools starting on August 10th. The collection is from July 15th through August 7th.

🤗 Drop Off a Warm Meal and Get More Than You Expect
Cabarrus Meals on Wheels (Cabarrus MOW) is a nonprofit organization that provides a daily hot and nutritious meal to seniors and disabled individuals who are unable to shop for or prepare meals for themselves. They have become an essential part of the community, providing not only meals but also socialization, wellness checks, peace of mind for families. All of this allows seniors to live independently longer in their own homes – which is where they really want to be.

👦🏽👨 Empowering Youth, Transforming Lives
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cabarrus County (BBBS) has played an important role in our community since 2004, providing mentoring programs to children facing adversity. They have seen tremendous growth over the years, with 271 children served in 2023, up from 103 in 2015. Their goal for 2024 is to serve 300 children in Cabarrus County.

With a mission to provide not just meals but also hope and a chance for a better future, Lifeline invites people of all ages and abilities to join their cause.

The Splashpaw Foundation was founded in 2013 by architect Ginger Moore and provides for others who cannot afford adequate treatment or care for their pets. This can include helping with the cost of treatment, medication, research or just helping a pet be more comfortable while they are ill.

Cabarrus Chamber Recognizes Outstanding Achievements
Cabarrus County has a vibrant and diverse business community that is led by an outstanding Cabarrus County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to hosting dozens of networking events for members to build relationships, they also actively represent the needs of small and large businesses through advocacy work.
