The Concord Rotary Club celebrated its centennial birthday with a Gala Event on Oct 19th at the Hotel Concord with over 100 Rotarians, guests, and distinguished members gathering to honor and give tribute to Concord Rotary’s legacy.

  • Pat Horton, the Chair for the event commented, “It is such an honor to be a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. This service organization helps others by giving back to our community through local service projects such as the construction of ROTARY Square in downtown Concord and the playground at J.W. McGee Park.”

In addition, The Concord Rotary Club assists with collecting food for the Salvation Army, supports the local Junior Charity League, provides dental and medical services in Peru, partners with Afton Sunset Rotary with the School Tools venture and they are currently working toward installing bike repair stations on The Brown Mill Mountain Bike Trail.

  • Concord Mayor, Bill Dusch, said, “I have been involved with Concord Rotary in many ways for over 50 years making it a great honor to have joined my fellow Rotarians at our 100th Celebration. As you look around our community, the impact of the Rotary motto “Service Above Self” can be seen everywhere with the projects we have supported and people we have helped.”

In closing, Tracy La Bolt Oberst, Rotary President commented “We are always looking for community-minded people that are passionate in their endeavor to make the world a better place! We hold our lunch meetings on Wednesdays! Come join us!
