From Storage to Showroom: The Evolution of AutoBarn Classic Cars

AutoBarn Classic Cars was founded by Cabarrus County car enthusiasts Tom Cotter and Joe Liles in 2006 as a storage facility, but expanded in 2007 to include consignment services, revolutionizing the way collector cars are marketed. AutoBarn has since established itself as a leading player in the classic car market.

Step into AutoBarn’s showroom and you’ll find yourself surrounded by over 100 carefully curated vehicles, spanning decades of automotive history. From the timelessness of a 1916 Cleveland Model 1-A motorcycle to the raw power of a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko/SC Stage 1 boasting a staggering 1050 horsepower, there’s something to captivate every visitor.

  • AutoBarn prides itself on accepting vehicles of all years, makes, and models, ensuring that there’s always a diverse selection to explore.

Angela Graham, who became part of the AutoBarn team in 2018 and now holds the position of general manager, emphasizes that AutoBarn isn’t just for seasoned collectors; it’s a place where everyone can find their dream car, whether it’s a daily driver or that “something special” that sparks nostalgia and passion. “We don’t just sell cars; we sell memories.”

  • For many, these vehicles represent more than just a car; they remind them of cherished moments; memories of riding in the same vehicle with a loved one, or the thrill of owning a dream car seen in a favorite movie.

AutoBarn’s offerings extend beyond just cars. In 2022, they introduced a range of car memorabilia, adding some additional fun to the experience of visiting their showroom. From vintage signs to unique collectibles, these items make perfect gifts for any car lover.

The showroom features an impressive 60,000 square feet of sales floor space and storage. Situated past the Gibson Mill and Cabarrus Brewing Company, it boasts a prime location with easy access for visitors. Moreover, the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art security systems, ensuring that every vehicle is protected and sheltered from the elements.
