International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21st, is a global event that brings people together to recognize the advantages of practicing yoga and promote its incorporation into everyday routines.

With a rich history spanning centuries, yoga has evolved into one of the most widely embraced forms of exercise worldwide. Its comprehensive approach to well-being, emphasizing the harmony of the mind, body, and spirit, offers numerous physical, mental, and spiritual benefits.

Studios and Classes

Charlotte Family Yoga Center, Solace Yoga Studio, and Community Yoga Central are all great options for those looking for a traditional yoga experience. These studios offer a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative yoga.

For those who prefer to practice yoga from the comfort of their own home, Yoga With Smita offers Zoom classes that are accessible from anywhere.

If you’re looking for a more active yoga experience, Get Fit Together and Sportscenter Fitness & Athletic Club both offer yoga classes that incorporate strength training and cardio.

Concord Parks & Rec and Rowan Cabarrus YMCA also offer yoga classes at various times throughout the week. These classes are a great way to get in a workout while enjoying the great outdoors or meeting new people.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed yoga experience, Cabarrus County Senior Center offers chair yoga, which is gentle and accessible for all ages.

Finally, for those who want to combine their love of yoga and beer, Yoga Sundays at Cabarrus Brewing in Concord and Yoga & Beer at Tuscarora Tap House in Mount Pleasant are two great options. Both events offer a one-hour yoga class followed by a beer tasting. These events are a fun way to socialize with other yoga enthusiasts in the community while enjoying a cold beer.
