The Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society (ECHS) is once again offering its annual Christmas Tour of Homes, set to take place on Saturday, Dec 9th from 11am to 6pm. This year’s tour features a special selection of historical homes and historic landmarks including Bost Grist Mill and St. Paul UMC, alongside the ECHS Museum itself.

Starting the tour at the ECHS Museum, attendees can immerse themselves in the holiday spirit with live music, yummy refreshments, and the chance to win prizes, including a gift card to 73 & Main Restaurant in downtown Mount Pleasant.

  • The museum serves as the heart of the event, where visitors can pick up their tour guide before embarking on a journey to explore beautifully decorated homes and churches.

The tour offers a leisurely exploration of homes that boast a mix of historic and festive decorations. From classic ornaments to timeless heirlooms, each location offers a unique charm that reflects the rich heritage of the area.

  • Homeowners will be on hand to share insights into the history and significance of their homes, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Tickets for the event can be purchased both online in advance through the ECHS website under the Upcoming Events tab and at the museum on the day of the tour. Wristbands will be distributed for easy access to the featured homes, making the experience seamless for all participants.

  • After completing the tour, visitors can return to the museum, where they can enjoy refreshments and engage further with the museum’s exhibits. You can also pick up the 2024 ECHS calendar full of beautiful photos, which makes an excellent gift for anyone who cherishes the history and charm of eastern Cabarrus County.

The Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum is a treasure trove of artifacts, photographs, and stories that bring the region’s past to life. The museum serves as a hub for preserving the area’s heritage and educating visitors about its significance. With its extensive collection and knowledgeable staff, the museum is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in exploring the history of eastern Cabarrus County.

Beyond the Christmas Tour of Homes, the ECHS continues to enrich the community with special exhibits, open houses, and a variety of programs covering diverse topics.
