It’s noon on Saturday and the newly opened Hawthorne’s has people seated at every booth and table. The family-friendly pizzeria gives off uptown chic vibes with gold chandeliers and marble bar countertops. This is the 9th Hawthorne’s location for owners, John and Michael Adams and their partner Carlo Martinez. Michael sits and talks with us for a while, and you can’t help but get caught up in his excitement as he shares with us about this latest venture.
Hawthorne’s motto is FAMILY OWNED. FAMILY FIRST. Hailing from New York, Hawthorne’s owners came together to be a beacon of unity and family values in our communities. At first glance, Hawthorne’s may seem like a million other pizza joints. But if you take a closer look, you will see the owners answering the phones, busing tables, cooking in the kitchen, and folding stacks of cardboard pizza boxes alongside the staff. It was definitely true today as John was busy busing tables and serving food while Carlo was busy in the back cooking up delicious pizzas, pasta, and sandwiches. He did manage to take time to show off his impressive dough-tossing skills.
Hawthorne’s uses only the freshest ingredients to make food that is absolutely delicious! A few of our recommendations from the menu:
MOZZARELLA AND TOMATO SALAD Fresh mozzarella and Roma tomatoes served with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing and garnished with fresh basil. The mozzarella literally melted in our mouths.
THE CREW PIZZA is named after the original Hawthorne’s employees that chose the ingredients of this authentic “New Yorker” pizza with meatballs, Italian sausage, banana peppers, red onions, and mozzarella cheese.
Looking for a sandwich? Try THE GODFATHER (SERVED HOT). With Capicola ham, Genoa salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion, served on homemade bread with Italian dressing this sandwich has a nice “kick” to it.
Need something gluten-free? I couldn’t even be mad about the cauliflower crust on the HAWTHORNE’S CHICKEN BACON RANCH PIZZA with homemade ranch dressing topped with chicken, bacon, red onions, and mozzarella cheese.
Hawthorne’s also offers takeout! The new restaurant is adjacent to the public parking deck with free two-hour parking, which makes it easy for customers to pick up their takeout orders from the back area of the restaurant without having to hassle with Union Street traffic.
