Friends of the Midland Library Fall Book Sale

The Friends of the Midland Library is hosting its annual fall book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, to benefit the Midland library. This year’s fall book sale will be at a new location, the Black-Phillips American Legion Post 433, 12975 Cabarrus Station Road in Midland. In addition to finding great books before the holidays, you can check out some of the amazing items the American Legion has. The Friends of the Midland Library will also honor all veterans with special commemorative coins, thanks to a grant from Friends of North Carolina Public Libraries.

🍇 Rocky River Vineyards Hosts Wine Tastings and Events

Contributor: Jamie Richardson Rocky River Vineyards is a 45-acre, family-owned and operated vineyard and winery, tucked into the hills of Midland and was the first vineyard in Cabarrus County. Big Meadow Creek flows through the property toward Rocky River, which is how the vineyard got its name. The land had been in the Elliott family for years, but it wasn’t until 2003 that Bob, Bill, and David Elliott planted the first muscadine vines. The winery was opened to the public in August of 2007.
