Porches – Where People’s Lives Connect

Front porches. Back porches. Side porches. We LOVE them all.

The weather is warming up and the invitation to spend more time outdoors is calling. Here are a few tips to make your outdoor space more enjoyable:

  1. Create a cozy seating area – If you have room for rocking chairs or a bench, do it! Add some cushions and a side table – centered around a rug and you are ready for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
  2. Plenty of pots – while in some cases less is more, when it comes to container gardens, there’s no such thing as too many porch plants. Add lots of color and height for an inviting look.
  3. Upgrade your doormat – just as with the interior of a home, layers make all the difference in elevating a space. A welcome mat not only anchors the entry and provides a place to wipe off shoes, it also adds interest in a similar way a runner does in a hallway.

Finish it off with a beverage of your choice and you are ready to welcome Spring!
