The compound originally opened in 1929 as Mount Pleasant Prison, where it remained in operation until it was shut down in 2011. Several Scenes from New Movie Filmed in Cabarrus County   🎥 Filming facts: Filming took place during the spring and summer of 2021, with scenes shot in Charlotte, Concord, Kannapolis, and Hickory.
